Brigitte Leeners: Many people think these are all career women who are putting off having children – that's not true. Most of the patients we see would be overjoyed if they could start a family right away. But often they don't have a partner. Or a relationship has just broken up. Many women who come to us want to freeze their eggs to avoid the stress of having to ask the question about having children on the second date. Women who want to freeze their eggs shouldn't wait too long; it's best to do so before age 35.
